Nomvula Director Nardia Cronje grew up in a Zulu community in the Biggarsberg Valley in Northern KZN. She was given the Zulu name Khanyesile at birth. When she turned 21, she was given another, Nomvula , for it always rained on and around her birthday.
Returning home after completing a degree in Bsc Interior Architecture, she felt a fierce calling to work within the community that shaped her. She made a few bags for family and friends, and soon orders and a demand for a brand started building. Nomvula Design was born.
Nomvula Design strives to create sustainable employment and skill development.
Nomvula Design is actively supporting the demographic nearest Nardia's heart; young women and mothers from rural areas. Nomvula currently employs 5 women, and are excited by the prospect of growth.
Nardia's vision for Nomvula Design is a skill-development based business that allows women and men of our under developed sectors to grow in confidence and financial stability through consistent employment.
