The tallest building in Africa. It’s 730 feet tall, with 50 floors! There’s a viewing deck on the 50th floor from which you can see just about everything in Jo’burg for fifteen bucks. Open daily from 9.30am - 3.30pm. Your best bet is to book for it via www.citysightseeing.co.za – who run hop-on/off bus tours all over Jo’burg (more photo ops!).
Part of these beloved Koppies were declared a nature reserve in 1959 and the area feels kind of wild, even though not being far from the city proper. There are more than 200 bird species as well as cultural relics in these hills. Melville Koppies Central is always locked and has controlled access for people on scheduled organised tours and hikes.
